Apart from the regular activities proposed to citizens in Val-David, a number of annual events and periodic activities are well worth attending.
Cultural Events
The well-established ceramics fair, 1001 Pots welcomes visitors during the heat of summer, from mid-July to mid-August.
A more recent event, but one that is just as appreciated, the Symposium International d’Art in Situ invites you to visit Les jardins du précambrien from mid-July until early September. The season concludes with a run down the Rivière du Nord in canoes, to the accompaniment of music and poetry.
On two weekends in August, the Route des Métiers d’Art begins in Val-David where almost half of the participating artists and craftspersons have their workshops or ateliers.
At Val-David Exposition Centre, activities are organized throughout the year, with a variety of inspiring exhibitions.
The adjacent premises houses the showroom for local ceramists and sculptors and in the Allée des artistes, just besides, craftspersons expose outside every week-end during the summer.
There are music gigs at many of the café-bars, bistros and other locations throughout the year. You can see what’s happening by consulting the notice board outside La Petite Gare (Tourist Bureau).
