Municipal Buildings
Our municipality possesses a number of service buildings, the maintenance of which is ensured by Public Works’ employees.
Municipal buildings include:
- the Municipal Office (Mairie);
- the municipal garage and fire department;
- the library;
- the Tourist Bureau (Petite Gare);
- the Chalet Dion;
- the Normand-Dufresne Pavilion;
- the Chalet Anne-Piché;
- the waste water treatment plant;
- the shelters for the pumping and booster stations.
Although La Maison du village Exhibition Centre and the church, which houses our community hall, do not belong to the Municipality, it nevertheless defrays part of the costs of upkeep for these buildings.
Municipal Office (Mairie)
2579, de l’Église
The Municipal Office houses the taxation, accounting, town planning, general administration, legal services and communications departments.
The Mayor and the Director of Public Works also have offices in this location.
On the first floor, a 20-seat conference room is available for the meetings of diverse internal committees and the Council caucus also meets there.
Municipal garage & Fire department
1365, de la Sapinière
Maintenance and repair of vehicles is carried out at the Municipal garage, which also houses the fire department.
There is a common room, which can be used as a changing room, and a cafeteria on the first floor.
The sewer maintenance officer and the Director of the Fire Safety department also have offices there.
Library
1355, de l’Académie
Built in 1987, the library building houses the library itself and offices for the Library manager and the Director of Sports, Culture and Recreation.

Tourist Bureau (Petite Gare)
2525, de l’Église
The building has found its former vocation again, as a local meeting place where people can obtain tourist information.
The building is also used by ice-skaters and hockey players using the nearby Parc Léonidas-Dufresne, and by users of the linear park in both summer and winter.
Chalet Dion
1280, Dion
The current building will soon be entirely renovated to meet the needs of youth and sport activities taking place in the park of the same name (Parc Dion) nearby.
Normand-Dufresne Pavilion
2600, rue Monty
Named after a child whose accidental death occurred nearby, this building currently houses quarters of the Journal Ski-se-Dit and the Société d’histoire et du patrimoine de Val-David (Val-David Historical and Heritage Society).

Chalet Anne-Piché
1165, chemin du Condor
The Chalet Anne-Piché is the gateway for Val-David into the Dufresne Regional Park.
Named after a Councillor whose accidental death occurred in western Canada, and located in the midst of nature, which she adored, this chalet was built partly by volunteers in 2005.
Waste water treatment plant
6767, chemin de la Rivière, Val-Morin
The waste water treatment plant was built in 1980 and came into operation in July 1981. Waste water is channelled to the treatment site by gravity-fed pipelines where it is treated by screening, aeration and settling for a period of approximately 4.5 days, before being returned to the river. Average treatment capacity is 1,350 cubic metres per day.
Daily counts and regular analyses are carried out by the Municipality and our accredited laboratory in order to meet discharge requirements set by the ministère du Développement durable, de l’Environnement et des Parcs.
Church/Community Hall
2490, de l’Église
Under the terms of an agreement between the Municipality and the Parish, the Municipality is responsible for the maintenance of the building, which is used as a community hall. Council holds public meetings, conferences and other meetings there. The hall is also available for rental to the public.
La Maison du village Val-David Exhibition Centre
2495, de l’Église
Already subsidized by the Municipality, La Maison du village also benefits from the services of municipal employees for part of its maintenance.
