Located in the heart of the village, Val-David’s Municipal Library offers the local population a wide range of services in a pleasant modern building.  Conferences and other activities are regularly held for all age groups.  Please watch out for our calendar.

Affiliated to the Centre régional de Services aux bibliothèques publiques des Laurentides (CRSPBL), the library houses its own collection of over 16,000 titles and provides access to documents from the entire Quebec public library network (Réseau biblio). Regardless of the document you are looking for, you are almost certain to have access to it here.

Membership conditions and lending policy

To benefit from library services, subscription is mandatory and free for all residents of Val-David.

For non-residents, the annual cost is $5 for those 17 and under, and $20 for adults.

A subscription gives the right to borrow up to 10 books and 2 magazines for a period of three weeks, renewable twice.

Late fees are 10¢ per document, per day.

Online library at Réseau Biblio Laurentides

All subscribers to libraries affiliated to the Réseau Biblio Laurentides may, using the Biblio PIN, view their file online, renew a loan, reserve documents or cancel a reservation. 

The Biblio PIN also provides access to the encyclopedia Universalis (French only) and to Biblio Branchée.

To obtain a PIN, simply come to the library with your membership card.

Computer services

The library has three computer workstations providing free access to the Internet (surfing and e-mail) and use of the programs from the Office software family (fees apply to print documents).  One can also consult the Encarta encyclopedia (French only).

Club des Aventuriers du livre

The Club des Aventuriers du livre offers youngsters exciting reading, as well as competitions and activities throughout the year.  Please see our calendar.
